And his opinion hasn’t changed, now that a photo of him has gone viral.

The photo captures the officer doing a simple, good deed—tying an elderly man’s shoelace for him.

Borsboom was on a paid-duty assignment, helping cars leave a parking garage, when he was approached by the man, who asked for his help.

What Does The Fox Say? — The Picture Book https://teachingkidsnews.com/2013/11/17/2-fox-say-picture-book/ https://teachingkidsnews.com/2013/11/17/2-fox-say-picture-book/#comments Mon, 18 Nov 2013 00:29:35 +0000 https://teachingkidsnews.com/?p=11558 The latest viral music video is being turned into a children’s picture book.

“What Does the Fox Say?” is a catchy music video that’s been seen by more than 200 million people.

Never heard of it? Read the TKN article about it here.

It was created by two Norwegian brothers, Bard and Vegard Ylvisaker, collectively known as Ylvis.

The video was meant to be silly and almost meaningless. But the tune was so darned catchy, it caught on, big-time.

Now, it will be a picture book called “What Does The Fox Say?”

Publisher Simon & Schuster is launching the book next month. It was written by Ylvis and has illustrations drawn by Svein Nyhus.

The brothers had thought of the idea of creating a picture book from their song even before they uploaded it to YouTube.

Every time someone shares the link, the number of people who see the video increases.

A new music video called, “The Fox (What Does the Fox Say?)” has recently gone viral. At 123,000,000 views, it may even catch up to Gagnam.

Viral Video Turns Out To Be A Hoax https://teachingkidsnews.com/2013/09/16/2-viral-video-turns-hoax/ https://teachingkidsnews.com/2013/09/16/2-viral-video-turns-hoax/#comments Tue, 17 Sep 2013 02:56:35 +0000 https://teachingkidsnews.com/?p=10947 You can’t believe everything you see on the Internet.

Last week, millions of people—including many news producers—learned that lesson in a very interesting way.

A very popular Internet video turned out to be a hoax.

The video was of a girl twerking (a current dance fad) in her room; she dances so hard that she falls onto a candle and her pants catch on fire.

More than nine-million people watched the video.

The video was shown on hundreds of newscasts, including major networks ABC and some local Fox Network affiliates.

Laros estimates he has made more than 10,000 dives in his career.

On Jan. 11, he led a group of videographers and divers on a "Manta Ray Night Dive."

However, the tour would be unlike any other trip he had ever been on before.

Students’ Experiments To Be Conducted In Space https://teachingkidsnews.com/2012/04/19/students-experiments-to-be-conducted-in-space/ Fri, 20 Apr 2012 01:00:46 +0000 https://teachingkidsnews.com/?p=6234 Three students have won the chance to have science experiments they created carried out by astronauts in space.

The students won an international competition called the YouTube Space Lab Contest. Last October, students around the world aged 14 to 18 were invited to come up with ideas for experiments that could be performed on the International Space Station.

The space station is a satellite that orbits the Earth. It includes a research laboratory where astronauts from the United States, Russia, Japan, Europe and Canada conduct experiments. Because there is no gravity on the space station, they are able to do experiments they could not do on Earth.

For the contest, students had to make a video explaining their hypothesis – the idea they wanted to test – and the method for doing the experiment. Then they posted the videos on YouTube.

Winners were chosen by people voting on YouTube, and by a panel of judges that included scientists, teachers, astronauts and journalists.
