A woolly mammoth carcass that was frozen in ice for 40,000 years may make it possible for scientists to bring the extinct species back to life.
The mammoth was found embedded in ice on a remote island off northern Russia in May 2013.

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper made his mark on the G20 Summit this year.
The Summit is a meeting of the leaders of 20 of the richest countries in the world.
The leaders of Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, France, Germany and other countries met in Brisbane, Australia this year.
The Summit is held in a different location every year.
Russia Closes Down Nine McDonald’s Restaurants
People in Russia remember waiting more than eight hours to taste their first Big Mac. The line-up was hundreds of people long, snaking back and forth along the sidewalk. That was 1990, when the first McDonald’s restaurant opened in Russia, in Moscow’s Pushkin Square.
First Russian Woman On ISS
Cosmonaut Elena Serova arrived on the International Space Station (ISS) on September 26, becoming the first Russian woman to join the crew of the space station.
Serova and two other astronauts made the six-hour flight in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft. They docked with the ISS while orbiting 364 kilometres above the Earth.

President Viktor Yanukovych was thrown out of Ukraine’s government last week.
The former president called it a coup d’état, which in this case means that political power was taken from him by force.
Ukraine parliament say they impeached Yanukovych.
Several weeks ago, peaceful protestors took to the streets calling for the president to join the European Union.
Canada’s Women Win Gold
Yesterday was golden for Canada’s female Olympians.
In one of the most exciting hockey games ever played, the Canadian women’s team took the top prize. It was a clash between long-time rivals US and Canada, the best versus the best.
The American women had a solid 2-0 lead going into the third period. But with less than four minutes to go, Canada’s Brianne Jenner put the puck past American goalie Jessie Vetter. The score was 2-1.

Yesterday, demonstrators clashed with police in Kyiv, the capital city of Ukraine.
